HideWord ยท Updated 2026-10-19
1. Information Processed
HideWord reads webpage text on sites where you allow the extension to run, to hide content matching your keywords. Page content is processed on your device and is not sent to the developer.
Keywords, Allowlist entries, preferences, and per-site match counts are stored locally to provide filtering and settings.
2. Storage and Sharing
The app and its Safari extension share settings through an App Group on your device. HideWord does not send these settings or your browsing history to developer servers, and does not include advertising or analytics services.
3. Backups
Import and Export run only when you request them. Exported files contain your saved data. You choose where to save or share them; copies are then handled by the destination you select. Device and browser backups may also retain local data according to your system settings.
4. Retention and Your Controls
Settings remain in local storage until changed or removed. You can delete keywords and Allowlist entries in the app, and disable the extension or revoke its website access in Safari settings. Exported files and system backups must be managed separately.
5. Contact and External Services
If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to send are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending sensitive browsing data. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any legally required retention.
Opening the X link or using an email service is subject to that service's privacy policy. HideWord does not send saved app data automatically when you open these links.
6. Policy Updates
Updated versions of this policy will be available here with a revised update date. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
